But that’s how fascism works, unfortunately. It plays on base human emotions, insecurities, and our worst impulses, and tells us they are valid and the reason our lives are unsatisfying. Turned loose on the right kind of disaffected population (which, unfortunately, describes a lot of the US right now) it is an incredibly powerful drug.
