I wrote a piece, you wrote a response. We each made our arguments, and people can read them — this isn’t a court trial where we need to arrive at some final verdict.

For what it’s worth, you haven’t really disagreed with me, although I have the sense you think you do. You explain in greater nuance the market forces behind the tea trade, but you still show that the Sons of Liberty were motivated primarily by the threat to their own financial interests and not an altruistic commitment to the “sacred rights of man.”

You make other points I could dispute — particularly around the causes of the Civil War — but again, we don’t need to come to consensus. I made my argument, you made yours.
